NDT produces the world’s largest lab-grown blue diamond

Meet the world’s largest lab-grown blue diamond, a 5.03-carat VS1 stone.

The man-made diamond was produced by New Diamond Technology (NDT). The high-clarity diamond has minor inclusions that can only be visible with magnification.

“Our aim is to take a rightful place in the lab-grown diamond market as we gain increasing interest from the worldwide jewelry industry. The opportunities are unlimited!” stresses Tamazi Khikhinashvili, president of NDT.

The company, headquartered in St. Petersburg, Russia, is a founding member of the International Grown Diamond Association (IGDA). In 2015, NDT produced the world’s largest lab-grown colorless diamond, a 10.02-carat, E color, VS1 stone cut from a 32.26-carat piece.

“Thanks to the establishment of the International Grown Diamond Association (IGDA), our business becomes even more transparent and reliable. We do believe that disclosure and best practices in combination with state-of-the-art technology create beauty, trust, and sincere admiration inherent in a diamond,” concluded Khikhinashvili.

NDT notes that there is a growing demand for high-tech industrial applications of single-crystal diamond products.
