Hermès: founded in 1837

Hermès was founded in 1837, by Thierry Hermès on Grands Boulevards quarter of Paris.

Initially, Hermès designed and produced the best wrought harnesses and bridles for the carriage trade. Later, the house of Hermès increased its range of high-end luxury products.

Robert Dumas-Hermès introduced the jewelry pieces in the early 1950s. The famous orange brand with its Duc-carriage-with-horse logo is still run by the Hermès family.

The luxury goods company is specialized in leather products for women, jewelry and watches, fragrances and ready-to-wear men products. The Hermès headquarters are located in Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Paris, France.
